Birthdays, unexpected gifts and Starbucks lattes

Oh what a day yesterday.  It was my birthday and I had such a good time.  It was cold and snowy but two of my friends came round, one who has MS, I cant believe she negotiated my drive !!!  I had some lovely gifts, which I wasn't expecting.  I have decided small gifts rather than large gifts are much better as it seems to me so much thought is put into them by the giver.  I can now listen to some new music cos I had both a CD and DVD of Jamiroquai. CD was his latest album and I love it, not every single track, but definitely most of it, my favorite being Blue Skies (see a previous post).  DVD was of his performance in Montreux, I could watch it over and over again.  I also had the SATC 2 DVD , total surprise there, so tonight I'm settling down after having had a bath in my Lush bath stuff that Son no 2 gave me then SATC here we come lol.  I had my favorite Clarins perfume with a couple of freebies and some Nails Inc nail varnishes from Son no 1, all of which are absolutely fab colours. Mum gave me some money.  Hubby sadly had to work but I lit all my candles and the twig thing with lights on hehehe (surprise gift from a friend) and it was so pretty.  The dogs and I chilled out completely stuffed after eating a curry. I was going to hit the shops today cos money always burns a hole in my pocket but its too cold and not worth the effort.  Instead I have caught up with the washing and put stamps on my Christmas cards ready to post tomorrow I hope, plus I have to make just a few too.   Dexie is a bit sick today and a bit whiney, he hates the cold so after a good brush in a minute and a lovely doggy bath he should be ok.... I hope. Marley as usual just loves it in the snow, he could happily spend all his day flicking it up in the air and playing with it!  Me, I like looking at it but cant stand the cold  and today to warm me up inside I made chicken thighs stuffed with stuffing, roast potatoes, swede, carrot, cabbage and leek (not all mashed up together of course hehe) its looks so yum.

Dexie looking his normal moody self in the snow lol

Twig light thing .... need to find a permanent home for it

Some of the candles on my window sill
Marley snoozing on the bed with me

Happy late birthday!
So, good to read you had such a good day.
I totally agree with you small gifts that you can actually tell went a lot of thought into are the best.
I wonder what my dogs would do with snow....
Hugs.
