Trees

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2010/apr/28/new-disease-killing-oak-trees

So sad that this is happening.  I love trees.  Opposite my house is lots and lots of trees, mainly beech and birch trees.  Last year I heard the tree cutters and they were attempting to cut all the beech trees down, but with it they were going to cut the birch trees as well, so in my wisdom I went out and stopped them hehehehehe.  They actually did stop and they called out a man from the local council and he came to see me.  Firstly he was quite grumpy saying no we are still going ahead but I decided to pull out my trump card and say well "I have been ill and its my only pleasure to see the trees blah blah blah" hehehehehehehehe.  I just put on a sad face and it works time after time hahahaha.  They obviously still had to trim the beech trees to get it back to a now tall hedge but they didnt cut any of the birch trees down.  I felt so happy.... see sometimes the little people win after all.

I am so proud of you.
I have been to recent protests here as the government just passed a law that permits ANY proyect to be done without environmental studies. Meaning they can chop down as many trees as they want.
Its awful. A few months back we had to watch 180 trees be taken down in about 2 days. It was bloody murder.

A lot of us protested but were totally ignored.
It's really bad here. Government and most people could care less about the environment. :(
